中國現(xiàn)代派的著名作品，古典的節(jié)奏，現(xiàn)代的哀愁有機結(jié)合。
在中國文學(xué)史上，詩人戴望舒無疑是一個獨特的存在。他創(chuàng)作的詩數(shù)量不多（不過百余首），卻在詩壇中占有重要位置；他沒有系統(tǒng)的詩論，但他的《論詩零札》和他友人杜衡整理的《望舒詩論》卻備受重視，他在詩壇以現(xiàn)代派的面孔出現(xiàn)，可在他生命的終端卻寫出了《我用殘損的手掌》這樣浸透了血淚的現(xiàn)實篇章。
在新詩史上，戴望舒自有他一席地位，不過地位并不是很高。
“五四”前后，科學(xué)與民主的洪流震醒了一代又一代的知識分子。美好的理想與黑暗的現(xiàn)實的激烈矛盾，籠罩了他們敏感的心靈。“知其不可為而為之”的社會使命感籠罩了一個龐大的“煩憂”群。戴望舒就是這樣一位由現(xiàn)實世界轉(zhuǎn)到詩的世界中最忠實的煩憂者之一。他寫了許多煩憂者的詩篇，這一杰出的詩篇《煩憂》為這一群體的心態(tài)與精神作了集中的觀照與畫像。
這首詩出自戴望舒的詩集《望舒草》。作為20世紀(jì)30年代中國詩壇的重要派別——“現(xiàn)代”派——的重要詩人，戴望舒的詩歌集中描寫了現(xiàn)代人的生命感悟與情感體驗的心靈軌跡。在人生的旅程中，有陽光燦爛般的欣悅激動，也有陰雨綿綿似的苦惱煩憂，那么，此刻郁結(jié)在詩人心中的煩憂是什么叫呢？詩人沒有直接表露。
現(xiàn)代詩歌，又稱新詩。從詩歌選篇上看，一般多有朦朧色彩，命題往往以抒情詩、哲理詩 或內(nèi)蘊深厚的詩為主。設(shè)題多趨向于詩歌的內(nèi)容和形式，與古代詩歌相比，新詩有其自身的 三大特色：
